I was in an accident 6 months ago and suffered a SCI. While I’ve come along way, I still need help gaining muscle mass!! Here’s the stats:
Teenage girl, 18, 5’10".
Before, I weighed 163.
Since the accident my weight has gone from 129 to 140.
I like that I’ve lost 23 lbs but its mostly from muscle mass.. Which means I am SO weak.
I have a 24hr fitness gym membership so I try to do the elliptical, weight machines, and swim when I go. That’s only once a week or so.
My mom has lots of vegan household ingredients but I’m not much of a cook yet :/ I just grab the easiest thing so "balance" is not usually in mind.

I’d like to change that.
Ideally, I’d like to maintain 140 and maybe drop ten or more pounds of fat (in the long run) while gaining muscle mass instead. 1lb of fat=3500 calories burned in an aerobic manner. Yeah, that’s where my understanding kind of drops off…
My energy levels are not too good. I go to bed at midnight or one @ the latest, always wake up at eight or nine. Taking narcotics for pain, mostly which is located in my bootay. Also my leg muscles are REALLY tight and my ankle is broken so that limits me more than anything (it was overlooked in comparison to my back injuries)
I know I need to focus on eating lots of veggies and working out every day, but its just so hard to start new habits! Help anyone?

My coworkers and I are all betting against each other to see who can lose the most weight in 8 weeks. Right now I’m sitting at 6’1" at 290lbs, 24 years old, and with a little movement at work as a meat wrapper. We are trying to push each other to lose it since the victor will get themselves a free trip to Las Vegas, and we all have to pay for them.

I have terrible habits and I need to figure out what to do in order to lose as much as I can. I have a gym pass to a 24hr fitness and I need some pointers on were to begin and what to focus on, any websites or info you can share would be greatly appreciated.

My usual day consists of waking up at 8am and getting dressed for work by 10, rarely eat breakfast and if I do it’s a bowl of cereal. Work from 10-3 and eat lunch which is either fried chicken or a sandwich from the deli. Then from 4-7 nothing. Get home around 8 and eat dinner which is always bbq’d chicken, steak, burgers or hotdogs, or a pasta dish. And then I go to bed around 12 or 1am. I try to avoid snacking since I work in a grocery store I usually pick the sweets (donuts, cake, Danish, or cheesecake) so I try to avoid or go to the deli for chicken, tenders, potato wedges, or a misc pasta salad.

    Thanks for any help

So, I have a 24hr fitness membership that I barely use, if any, maybe once a week. I work 8-5 and have plenty time to work out, but I’ve been on this really lazy kick for the last 3 months or so. Can someone give me some words of wisdom to get me back on track? I’m about 20lbs over my ideal weight, too. And I pay like per month for my membership. I use to love the Zumba classes, but for some reason it just doesn’t excite me anymore.

i am moving to an apt complex that has a 24hr fitness center and its finally my chance to get back in shape. im in colllege and my meals throughout the day aren’t going to be huge or much at all.

my question is if im using creatine and whey protein without a "proper" diet, will it help at all? (say i have /day, or about 0/month for food – what should i be buying?)

and i keep hearing these supplements will only work if you spend hours in the gym, then again i also hear you are only suppose to do quick workouts, about 3-4 sets and 6-10 reps a day.

i am 5’10, 160, and ectomorph. i played football in highschool so i have some muscle, but haven’t really touched weights in years!…i want to gain 15-20 pounds of muscle and mass and get my abs and definition back asap

                it goes something like……

"her hips (or lips, i don’t know which), her thighs, she’s got me hyptmotized"…….this is in a whisper-like rhaspy voice…..

then it goes "she wants it……..she wants it"

i hear it in the mixes in my 24hr fitness cardio classes…

This is what I wrote , please let me know if you can think of a better way to write this.

                  To Whom It May Concern:

My name is xxxx I am writing in regards to a 24hr fitness employee. As possible clients of 24hr Fitness my boyfriend and I called the xxx center on 2/17/2010 with high interest in joining. After speaking with xxx, one of your membership sales representatives we made an arrangement to meet. Being unable to keep this appointment we had to cancel.

Since, we have been completely shocked about the lack of respect from 24hr Fitness and “stalker” sales tactics from xxx. Every day for the past week we have gotten at least 10 phone calls from him to the point of having to block him from my phone so all of his calls go to voicemail.

24hr Fitness was our first choice but needless to say with this experience we have decided to take our business and search elsewhere.

I would advise that 24hr fitness be more aware of these pushy sales representatives, as it could harm your relationships with future clients.

                  Kind Regards
