I recently lost 40 lbs and now weigh 120 lbs, and I am 37 years old. Her and I tries to lose weight together but she was too busy to work out with me. It was either I have soccer or I have the drama club, or something else. You would think that since shes so athletic the weight would come right off. That’s why she got into sports; for her health and to get her to interact with people more. She has had a problem with social interaction, and I thought sports and clubs would help. I asked her about it, and she said "Mom I love all of these after school things, but I feel most shy doing sports, because all of the other girls are a lot skinnier, prettier, and better at the sports than I am." So I said " Honey if you don’t want to be in sports you don’t have to." So I took her out. Then she quit her drama club, her tutoring help. So I asked her again honey "What is the real reason why you are quiting every thing?" and she answered "All of the kids make fun of me because when we have snacks, they think that I shouldn’t have one because I’m already fat enough. So I put her on a strict diet, and the weight will not go away. I put her in a fitness club, so she could be with kids just like her, and she loves it. She eats grapes, strawberries, bananas, bagel with low fat creme cheese, and other healthy stuff. What should I do. She is not happy with herself, and I hate to see her so sad. I WILL NOT GIVE HER DIET PILLS, OR THAT ACAI BERRY STUFF, AND LIPO SUCTION IS NOT THE ANSWER. I just want to help her, and I guess I don’t have the answer, so please help me.

So I am tried of working 2 dead end jobs and trying to get through college. I’ve been healthy and athletic my whole life. I love helping people feel better about themselves. I want to become certified as a personal fitness trainer. But I need advice in where to start what schools are a waste and what are good. I am looking to do something online so I can work at the same time. Also I want something where I can use if I move to another state. What is your advice?
I am really interested in joining Curves. It seems like it will fit into my schedule and I only have a small amount of weight to lose. I just want to know how much it would be?

An ideal fitness training program that meets all fitness needs takes a long time to formulate. Fitness training program guides that work carries anywhere from a week to a month and it must happen under normal environmental conditions. For example, training outdoors can be a great activity to consider, however, no one is in the right mind to endure the cold sub zero during winters and high 90s of the summer. Either the low temperature or the high heat kills.
For high impact workouts, this can take a serious toll on the body. This is especially so for people who suffer from arthritis since young and exercises like swimming or jogging can put a tremendous amount of stress on joints. To a much similar effect is weight training. It puts much stress on the wrists, shoulders and elbows and may result in sports injury whenever it is too strenuous.
As a recommendation, an ideal fitness training program encompasses the 3 pillars of training: Flexibility training, cardiovascular training and strength training.
For strength training: Reps, curls, sit-ups, leg-lifts and triceps work are some of examples that work well for arthritis borne bodies.
For cardiovascular training: Sit down exercise bike maybe ideal as it puts very little stress on the joints, especially when placed on minimal resistance. One can pedal for an extended period of time and distance without suffering from cramps or arthritis-related injury.
For flexibility training (or stretching): Prior to extensive fitness training program, simple work on the torso, both the arms and legs and the head can help to make one limber and fit for subsequent activities.

I took HP and AP classes my freshman and sophomore year, but I got a 3.0 both years because I had some health problems so I I had to miss alot of school and it affected my grades. Now, I am a junior and have a gpa of 3.5. I do some sports and Im ina couple clubs. Im not sure what my SAT scores are yet. So, what are my chances of getting into UC Davis?
